The Same Spirit

Let’s start off with some verses, “Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.”Now the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a harmful spirit from the Lord tormented him.1 Samuel 16:13-14 Back in the old testament the Spirit of the Lord came and went from people. But in the new testament and in a Christian’s life today the Spirit of the Lord is for all people who believe in Him. The sad part of this verse is that when the Spirit of the Lord moves out of Saul, a new Spirit moved in and torment him. We have the same Spirit that protects, comforts, and guides us through all things. We must realize that the Spirit of the Lord that gave Elijah, Elisha and Samson and others in the Bible  supernatural powers can be the same in a Christian’s life today. He ministers to you when you read the Bible and pray.

You  have the Spirit if you are a Christian. God allows us to have the same Spirit that  Jesus had that enabled Him to do His miracles and cast out demons. If it’s in His will  and we have faith we can do the same miracles that Jesus did in His life. In the United States we are weighed down by Religious baggage and it’s hard for us to have the faith to move a mountain. God has the power to move our baggage but sometimes we don’t want to let go of it. So let’s let Him take our baggage and have faith in Him.

His Image

This week  let’s start off with some verses,”Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?” But He perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Show me a denarius. Whose likeness and inscription does it have?” They said, “Caesar’s.” He said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” Luke 20:22‭-‬25 In this passage Jesus  says whose image is on the coin, the answer is Ceasars, but whose image is on you? God’s is, so give to God what is God’s. According to Genesis1:27 “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” From the day He created you, when you were just a mere cell He gave you His image, He gave you life. He created all of us for a distinct purpose and to know Him. He blessed us with His image, which is a big blessing. When people look at Christians they should be able to see God through us. That we can be a city on a hill. Satan is going to see your potential and is going  to try to silence you, he’s had a long time to learn people’s demeanor and emotions. Satan knows what your desires are and he is going to try to twist your view of Jesus and of what He’s done for you. We need to be careful that he doesn’t twist our world view. That is why we need to be in the word so that we know what it says. So this week let’s be in the word so that when the devil tries to lie to us we can see through the lies that he mixes with truth that way we are not deceived.

What is truth?

In today’s world  there is so much information being thrown at you. What is truth? Is truth what we hear from the news or somewhere else.  We all have started to question everything we see and hear. Sometimes we start to ask ourselves what is true and what is fake. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 He is truth and every word spoken by Him is true and by His spirit through men His word, our Bible was written. Until we see that He is truth we can not enter into the kingdom of heaven. The truth is that Jesus is coming soon and we better be prepared ,because this time He will not come as a baby in a manager. He is coming as a King to get His kingdom. We need to repent of our sins and trust that He is the only way to heaven. If we are  Christians we need to be telling others about Him. Jesus says ,”So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven,” Matthew 10:32 Have you been acknowledging God before man? Do you believe in God? He wants all of us

This week I want to talk about a feature that nearly every computer has, where you can tell a certain operating system like windows or mac. They have partial access to your storage but not to all of it. This is helpful because you can have multiple operating systems. For those of you who have Facebook where you are required to have an account to access the full version of the site.  God wants access to your entire life He doesn’t want to hit a wall. You say He can have access to your life at church but don’t touch my online life. Or He can have access to my life at home but He can’t have access to my school or work life. When you surrender your life to Him, He doesn’t want a portion of your life. He wants all of you. Your playing for one of two teams. “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.  Matthew 6:24 Which God will you serve? Either you are all for one or all for the other, there is no middle ground. ‘I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot!Revelation 3:15  The one is a lie that looks  appealing, but he will never satisfy you he will take you farther than you want to go and keep you longer than you want to stay. So pick your side, are you going be on God’s side or sin’s side?
