  • No longer slaves to sin
This week I want to start off with a verse, “Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.” ‭‭John‬ ‭8:34‬ ‭In this verse Jesus says that anyone who practices sin is a slave to it and according to Romans 3:23 we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So we are all slaves to sin, but back in Bible times there was something called the Year of Jubilee where all the slaves were freed every 7 years and were allowed to live as free men or […]
  • Give thanks to your Heavenly Father
This week is going to be a little different, I want to remind you that the pilgrims had the first thanksgiving as a thanks to God for bringing them to America and giving them such a successful harvest. I think this has similarities to the Passover in several ways, first where God told them to remember Egypt where He spared them and brought them to the promised land, then in the way they celebrate every year with remembering what God did for them. The pilgrims were a God fearing group that thanked God through prayers and feasting that first thanksgiving. […]
  • Do you have a river of living water
This week I want to start off with some verses, “On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” ‭‭John‬ ‭7:37-39‬ ‭In these verses Jesus says He is the living water and anyone […]
  • Does your life have salt
This week I want to start off with some verses, “Salt is good, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is of no use either for the soil or for the manure pile. It is thrown away. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭14:34-35‬ ‭God has called Christians to be the salt of the earth. This means when God looks down at the earth He sees someone who is different from the rest of the world. Salt in ancient times was used for many different purposes, it was a […]
  • The storm of the Spirit
This week I want to start off with a verse, May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13, This week at my house, tropical storm Zeta came through, we had a power outage for 3 days and a bunch of fallen trees. It swept through our entire area and we talked to our neighbors more during this time than in a long time. I was thinking what if the Holy Spirit swept through our land in the same […]
  • God called us to love all
This week I want to start off with some verses, And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”  And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”  But he, desiring to […]
  • What is the fruit of your root?
This week I want to start off with some verses, “For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit,  for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:43‭-‬45  In this passage Jesus uses an example of fruit for those who are […]
  • Our limitless God
This week I want to start off with some verses, He went away from there and came to his hometown, and his disciples followed him. And on the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things? What is the wisdom given to him? How are such mighty works done by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. […]
  • A cultural river
This week I want to start off with some verses, But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.  I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.  I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.  They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.  Sanctify them  in the […]
  • Prayer can open jail cells, what will your prayer do
This week I want to start off with some verses, Now when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood next to him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, “Dress yourself and put on your sandals.” And he did so. And he said […]
  • He can use even the bad days
This week I want to start off with some verses, Now when it was day, they did not recognize the land, but they noticed a bay with a beach, on which they planned if possible to run the ship ashore. So they cast off the anchors and left them in the sea, at the same time loosening the ropes that tied the rudders. Then hoisting the foresail to the wind they made for the beach. But striking a reef,  they ran the vessel aground. The bow stuck and remained immovable, and the stern was being broken up by the surf. […]
  • Are you spiritually blind
This week I want to start off with some verses, But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”  And he said, “Who […]
  • Jesus asked Do you love Me
This week I want to start off with some verses, When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”  He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.”  He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter […]
  • Pointing to Jesus
This week I want to start off with some verses, ‘Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to […]
  • Turn your chains into blessings
This week I want to start off with some verses, About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened. When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all […]
  • What ladder are you climbing?
This week I want to start off with some verses, we who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.” For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you […]
  • Ambassadors for Christ
This week I want to start off with some verses, So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of […]
  • Who is your foundation
This week I want to start off with some verses, Jesus is “ ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’  Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:11‭-‬12  This year, for most of us, it has been a rough year. For some of us it feels like every time you come up for air a bigger wave hits you and takes you back down. Given all that has happened this year we can all still have faith in Christ and […]
  • Seeking Jesus for the right reason
This week I want to start off with some verses,  Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” But Jesus […]
  • Where does your faith lie
  • Mimic Him
This week I am going to change things up a little.  I want you to imagine that it was a couple of months before the pandemic.  Some of your friends invited you to go and do something that you had never done before or that you hadn’t done in a while. Let’s just say it was some kind of sport like mountain biking or mountain climbing or some kind of extreme sport. The friend that invited you was very good at this extreme sport. You decided you were just going to mimic him as you go and try this sport. […]
  • Return to the Lord He is calling you
This week I want to start off with some verses, In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, saying, “The Lord was very angry with your fathers. Therefore say to them, Thus declares the Lord of hosts: Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, Return from your evil ways and […]
  • We are paralyzed without faith
This week I want to start off with some verses, When he had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly.” And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.”  But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, […]
  • Faith over action
This week I want to start off with some verses, From Mount Hor they set out by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. And the people became impatient on the way. And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.” Then the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. And the people came […]
  • He wants to dwell in your heart
This week I want to start off with some verses, Remember, O Lord , in David’s favor, all the hardships he endured,  how he swore to the Lord and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, “I will not enter my house or get into my bed, I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,  until I place for the Lord , a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.” Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar. “Let us go to his dwelling place; let us […]
  • Seek Him this Easter
Happy Easter everyone, This week I want to start off with a verse, Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, […]
  • He is waiting for you
This week let’s start off with some verses, Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him. And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his […]
  • The True Lamb of Passover
I am going to start off with some verses, Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Where will you have us prepare for you to eat the Passover?” He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.’”  And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the Passover. When it was evening, he reclined at table with the twelve. And as they were eating, he said, […]
  • Who is Jesus to you
This week I want to start off with some verses, And when he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. When he drew near to Bethphage, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples, saying, “Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here.  If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘The Lord has need of it.’” So those who were sent […]
  • Wake up and look up Jesus is calling
This week, I want to start off with a verse, “In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. And all went to be registered, each to his own town.”  Luke 2:1‭-‬3 2000 years ago Caesar Augustus was taking a count of the world under his power. God moved in such a mighty way that it changed the course of humanity. He sent His Son Immanuel (God with us). He came and dwelt among men. Well, President Trump is counting everyone […]
  • No Matter what happens he will be with us
This week I want to start off with these  verses “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ? Matthew 6:25‭-‬27 If God takes care […]
  • Be still
This past week President Trump declared today a national day of prayer.  We definitely need to pray with everything that is going on. Many of us are staying at home if we can to avoid getting sick and to keep others from getting sick. Even though we are at home we are still doing stuff and staying busy and distracted. But the best thing we can do is take what the Bible says in Psalms 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” and in […]
  • His plan
This week let’s start off with some  verses, “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord , that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord . For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:6‭-‬9 […]
  • His Provision for today’s world
Let’s start off with a verse this week, You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah Psalms 32:7 This is a verse by David, it was probably written when David was being chased by Saul. He was sacred for his life and he said that God was his hiding place. In today’s world we need a hiding place that we can go to be with Him and to get away from this hostile world. To allow us to be encouraged by God through His word and through prayer. […]
  • The Same Spirit
Let’s start off with some verses, “Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.”Now the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a harmful spirit from the Lord tormented him.1 Samuel 16:13-14 Back in the old testament the Spirit of the Lord came and went from people. But in the new testament and in a Christian’s life today the Spirit of the Lord is for all people who believe in […]
  • His Image
This week  let’s start off with some verses,”Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?” But He perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Show me a denarius. Whose likeness and inscription does it have?” They said, “Caesar’s.” He said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” Luke 20:22‭-‬25 In this passage Jesus  says whose image is on the coin, the answer is Ceasars, but whose image is on you? God’s is, so give to God what is God’s. According to Genesis1:27 “So God […]
  • What is truth?
In today’s world  there is so much information being thrown at you. What is truth? Is truth what we hear from the news or somewhere else.  We all have started to question everything we see and hear. Sometimes we start to ask ourselves what is true and what is fake. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 He is truth and every word spoken by Him is true and by His spirit through men His word, our Bible was written. Until we […]
  • He wants all of us
This week I want to talk about a feature that nearly every computer has, where you can tell a certain operating system like windows or mac. They have partial access to your storage but not to all of it. This is helpful because you can have multiple operating systems. For those of you who have Facebook where you are required to have an account to access the full version of the site.  God wants access to your entire life He doesn’t want to hit a wall. You say He can have access to your life at church but don’t touch […]
  • Sinking ship
Imagine with me that your job  on a ship is to polish the ship. One day your ship is sinking slowly, would you continue polish the ship? There is  no right answer to this question. If you answered you would continue to polish the ship then you would be doing your duties. If you answered no then you are probably  trying to save the ship. What is more important is that we continue to do something . The world is on their way down if they don’t look up and believe in Him, then they are on the way to […]
  • A useful vessel
This week let’s start off with the verses where David was anointed King of Israel.  “And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah. Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, “Send me David your son, who is with the sheep.” 1 […]
  • A united church
Like we talked about last week, we as a church have become too complacent because, it has been close to 2000 years since people have walked with Jesus. We would rather stay in four walls and fight about whether we should listen to contemporary music or hymns, read the King James or all the other versions. When 3,865 Languages need Bible Translations. They’re  not going to get the King James Version ,they just need a version of the Bible. We need to stop fighting over the little stuff as long as we don’t disagree on our core beliefs, we should […]
  • The Eternal flame
Imagine that your friend found a cure for cancer. It could be cured for free to you and everyone. Now imagine again that everyone in the whole world had cancer but your friend had died to find the cure. Would you not want the whole world to know there was a cure? But the first step for the world to be cured of cancer would be for them to know that they have cancer. In this illustration sin is cancer and your friend is Jesus. The first step to cure sin is to admit that you have sinned. Sin is […]
  • Happy New Year
This week we are going to start off with a verse, Now Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord , the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.” And the word of the Lord came to him: “Depart from here and turn eastward and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. You shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.” So he went and did according to the […]
  • Christmas
This season is a time when emotions are high and people are more loving. But for some people there are emotions of sadness for loved ones who have gone before them. And it has been like this since the first Christmas, now we are going to read a verse,”Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men.” Matthew […]
  • John the Baptist
This week I want to start off with a verse. But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the […]
  • Frozen 2 from a Christian perspective
This week were going to talk about Frozen 2 the movie so If you haven’t seen it and you want to see it don’t read this. So the part I want to start off with is when Elsa evacuated  Arendelle. If you’re reading this I am assuming that you have seen the movie so remember at the end of the movie when Arendelle was saved. That is not going to happen, imagine with me that Arendelle is the earth. The  earth at the end will be destroyed along with all the people left on the earth but those who trusted […]
  • Season of giving
This Tuesday is national giving Tuesday. Let’s start off with a verse “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,  I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?  And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when […]
  • Giving thanks to God
This week I want to start off with a verse O give thanks unto the Lord ; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.  O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalms 136:1‭-‬3 This week in America it is Thanksgiving.  This verse says to give thanks to the Lord, and God has given us a lot to be thankful for. He is the one who has given us everything we have. To give those of you […]
  • Cross shaped hole in your heart
This week I want to start off with a verse,”So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Genesis 1:27 God created us in his image so we could have a friendship with Him. He  created us to long for a friendship with Him. To put it more clearly he put a cross shaped hole in your heart and that hole makes you feel empty when the noise stops around you. Do you try to fill the crossed shaped hole in your heart with all the things […]
  • Friendship
This week I want to start off with a verse, “Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.” Proverbs 22:24‭-‬25 This Bible verse is not saying if your boss or teacher gets mad that you quit or disrespect them. This is talking about your friends who are the ones that influence you the most in your life. They may also be the ones who stick with you through the valleys.  A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is […]
  • Facing persecution
This week I want to start off with a passage of scripture “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these […]
  • difference between knowing and knowing
This week I want to talk about the difference between knowing and knowing. The first knowing is the way you know a friend. The other knowing is the way you know your parent, brother, sister or the closest person to you. Now, let’s apply that to our relationship with Jesus Christ. Do you know Him as a father or as an acquaintance? Have you trusted Him as your Lord and Savior? Knowing God is an amazing opportunity. For thousands of years no one truly knew God, but then the veil was torn and because of Jesus we are able to […]
  • Being in the world not of the world
This week I want to talk about being in the world without being conformed to the world. Here is this week’s verse For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.2 Corinthians 4:6 We need to be in the world to show His light to the world. You cannot let the world influence you. You are in the world but not of the world because if you are of the world, then you will lose […]
  • Where shall we worship
This week I want to start off with a verse John 4:19-24, The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the […]
  • Christian Joy
This week I want to start off with a verse; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 1 Peter 3:15. It says to be prepared to give an answer for your hope which brings you joy. So what is the cause for a Christians joy? It’s that we have hope for tomorrow because no matter what happens we know that Jesus is still on the throne. If we call on his name […]
  • Recognizing Jesus
This week I want to talk about right after Jesus rose from the grave. He appeared to two of His followers, one named Cleapus and the other was not named. They were walking away from Jerusalem when Jesus appeared to them, but they did not recognize Jesus. As they were walking along He told them prophecies about Himself from the Old Testament(TaNaK). They did not recognize Him until He broke bread with them. When your walking away from your purpose you will not recognize Jesus. This week I want to ask you where is Jesus showing up in your life, […]
  • Sin cycle
I’m going to start off with a verse, Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: Genesis 12:1. This verse is about Abram better known as Abarham. This verse called Abraham out of what he knew to become the father of the Jewish nation. But if he would of stayed In the land of his father who taught him to worship the gods of the Samaritans. Then the one true God told Abraham to get out of his […]
  • National read a book day
This week we are going to talk about reading your Bible. Because Sep. 6 is national read a book day. You probably never knew that, if you did just say yes in the comment section below. As you may or may not know the Bible is broken into 66 individual books. For this national read a book day I am going to encourage you to read a whole book. What is the Christian’s reason for reading the Bible? One of the names of Jesus is the Word. It is important to hear from God every day through his word. But […]
  • Serving through the gospel
This week I want to talk about the gospel through serving. We talked about the gospel a while back and encouraged you whether you were a follower of Jesus or not. This week is going to be a little bit different. I’m talking about sharing the gospel through serving. If you’ve ever served with a church on a mission trip, then you know that you get just as much out of serving as the people you are serving. But sometimes when you are serving or maybe you forgot you had signed up to be a server and you want to […]
  • In the wilderness
This week were going to start with a verse, Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Matthew 4:1 Jesus went countless times to be alone with His Father. He went to relax in the wilderness and talk to his Father. How often do you go out to the “wilderness” to be with your Father. So you have to wind down. The longest living creature that is smaller than a foot is the bat. Scientists believe that the reason is that they can make their heart go from 180 beats to […]
  • God’s story
This week I want to talk about God’s story. From the beginning which is not even a correct term because God does not exist in time because he created time so he is not controlled by it as we are. God created the heavens and the earth in 6 days. Then man sinned therefore breaking the relationship between man and God. But God sent his only son so he could have a relationship with you. Every decision you make is pulling you closer to God or digging a divide between you and God. You are either building one of two […]
  • Peter in jail
This week I want to talk about Peter and his time in jail when he thought he was going to die as James did by the sword just days earlier. Peter was sleeping in the jail chain up between two soldiers. Then the angel came in and said , “get up and get dressed.” It wasn’t that Peter was praying it was that his friends were praying for him and God had a plan for the rest of his life. When God shows up in your darkest moments like when Peter was in jail because Herod Antipus wanted to please […]
  • Living for a better purpose
As some of you know this week the New Lion King came out in America, but I am not going to spoil it for you. I am going to talk about a scene from the old one the first Lion King and if you have not seen it you’ve had 25 years. The scene I want to talk about is the scene where Simba is standing by the water with Rafik, when Rafik says remember who you are, you are a son of the king. Right before this scene Simba is living in the mountains with a group of outcasts […]
  • Bios and Zoa
This week were going to talk about things that are bios and zoa. Bios is a greek word meaning things of this world. Zoa is a greek word meaning things of eternity. What if when we get to heaven Jesus says, everything you did while on earth was bios, and equal to ashes. That doesn’t make a crown to lay at Jesus feet, butanything you did that was zoa will turn to gold, to give to Jesus. You’ll hear well done, well done my good and faithful one. When I was writing this I was setting on my front porch […]
  • Follow me
When Jesus was first starting His ministry, right before the call of Matthew, there were men who came to Jesus and said, they wanted to follow Him.They had something they wanted or needed to do first or they didn’t want to be homeless because Jesus was homeless. The first guy did not want to worry about where he was going to sleep or what he was going to eat. Jesus called the second man and said,” follow me” but he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” And Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury […]
  • Cornerstone
We have talked about the Bible, prayer, and Jesus. We are now going to talk about where we can root our lives. We our to make our biggest root based on Biblical truth that Jesus died and rose again. Then the other roots we should interlace them with other Christians in a Church. I am all for listening to podcasts, but that can’t be the only time you fellowship with the church. Because when your not going to be around other Christians it is easy to blow down a tree with the storm’s of this life. Which God allows the […]
  • Jesus impress the pharisees
Jesus, from a very young age was impressing the Pharisees, read Luke 2:41-52 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom. And when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it, but supposing him to be in the group they went a day’s journey, but then they began to search for him among their relatives and acquaintances, and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, […]
  • Prayer
Prayer is an essential part of a christian life. But a lot of christians have questions on what prayer is or how to pray. I’ll start with the questions of what prayer is you are just talking to God and it is not just you asking God for all your requests. It is also you thanking God for what he has done for you and praising him for answered prayers. Prayers are also for asking God about questions in your life . If your just getting back into the routine of praying your mind will wonder. I’ve heard it called […]
  • Has the Bible stayed the same through the ages
The Bible has according to the Bible stayed the same through the ages Matthew 5:18. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Jot is the smallest Greek form of writing but if you don’t believe in the inerrancy of scripture. There are more variant then word in the Greek New Testament this is only because in Greek there are like 10 different ways to write a single sentence. 70% of the difference are spelling because Greek is such a complex […]
  • Mountain and valleys
Some of the hardest times in a christian’s life is walking through trials of life. Mountains in your life are the good time . The valleys are the hard times in your life. We have some of the hardest times when we lose a love one in our life. Or fear of something or anxiety over something in your life. Now I do like to use the Bible in these things so here is a Biblical example of someone who was on the mountain and then in the valley within just hours. Read 1 King chapter 18-19.After many days the […]
  • I declare War on Self
I was thinking this week about how God gave up His Son to save us ,from our sin. His Son was also apart of himself so he gave up a piece of himself. He so loved the world and you so much he was willing to give up his son and a part of himself. When he asked us to give up a part of who we are or what we think about something or someone, we think He is asking to much from us. This particular verse of scripture relates well with what I am talking about.Matthew 16:24 24 “Then […]
  • New to Christianity
The gospel is the good news that Jesus rose from the grave after he died on the cross for our sins. The gospel can and does change peoples lives every day. The gospel can change your life right now whether or not you believe in it. The gospel can change your life if your not a christian by the holy spirit showing you how to become a believer of Jesus. If you are a Christian already don’t stop reading this. There are just a few more lines. My youth pastor at Faith Church Statesville said “if we could see hell […]
